Welcome to this presence practice of centering. In this video we bring our awareness back to ourselves as our energetic home. This simple practice allows us to move from over-extended states to a more calm awareness of ourselves and our relationship to what’s going on around us, giving us greater range and choice about whether and how we respond.
Today’s presence practice video is on centering using gestures.
Gestures are a powerful way to get to know aspects of ourselves that may be hidden from everyday view and unite mind and body. I have used them in my personal practice for over 20 years and with clients to deepen our one-to-one work.
It is a beautiful symmetry to use a bilateral gesture so near the equinox, a time of balance between this and that. This practice is intended to explore and integrate (make space for) what seem like opposites while noticing if a third perspective arises in the space between as we hold both in our awareness.
